Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

Our Client is a global food and Beverages provider, with head offices around the world, the Channel Marketing Manager reporting to the General Manager - Canada, will be responsible for managing and coordinating the marketing (advertising & promotion) of the company’s products and services to meet the company’s objectives in Canada.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Develops and executes marketing plans and promotional programs, both short and long range, to ensure sales growth, gains in market share and growth in profitability.
  • Fluency in written and spoken Chinese is required
  • Researches, analyzes, and monitors financial, technological, and demographic factors so that market opportunities may be capitalized on and the effects of competitive activity may be minimized.
  • Assists in the planning and implementation of the company’s advertising and promotion activities for the channels including print, direct mail, coupon, house drops and other advertising and promotion vehicle (Online/Offline included).
  • Coordinates promotional activities with distributors and LKK sales team members.
  • Processes credit notes and payments for promotional activities.
  • Develops and recommends pricing strategy for the company.
  • Manage and coordinate trade and distributor show support and / food demo including logistics for the booth, sales materials, products, personnel, sampling programs, etc.
  • Assists with the analysis and reporting of research from syndicated (AC Nielsen), custom and third-party sources.
  • Provide support to the sales team for presentations, samples, sell sheets, Point of Purchase materials, in-store demonstrations, recipe books and cards
  • Analyze and report on competitors
  • Manage, track and issue purchase orders.
  • Manage the advertising and promotion activities and budget
  • Lead NPD process including initiating and controlling various systems, such as NPD, TP Simulation and PCRS, developing label artwork, and controlling MOFs, etc.
  • Evaluates market reaction to advertising programs, merchandising policy, and product packaging and formulation to ensure the timely adjustment of marketing strategy and plans to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
  • Performs other ad hoc duties as assigned.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage Channel Marketing Assistant supporting the channel with:

  • New product development, costing and new item set-up submissions
  • Customer technical service requests
  • Other office duties


QUALIFICATIONS

A. EDUCATION, SKILLS and EXPERIENCE

  • This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Business related field and minimum of five years in Marketing or related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • An MBA degree is preferred.
  • Ideal candidate must be proficient in the development and execution of new product processes, product design, packaging design, advertising, marketing research, test marketing, trade and consumer promotions. Consumer goods experience is necessary.
  • The individual must possess strong communication and analytical skills.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Multi-media graphic design tools, and SAP experience is a plus.
  • Ideal candidate must be able to solve practical problems and deal with variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


B. LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Successful candidate must possess excellent communication and presentational skills
  • both written and verbal and proven ability to work independently in cross-functional
  • teams to achieve established goals.
  • Fluency in written and spoken Chinese is required


C. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • The individual must be able to apply mathematical concepts such as probabilities and
  • statistical inference to forecast annual sales and budget.
  • The individual must apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical
  • situations.
  • The individual must have the ability to define problems, apply concrete sales principles through data gathering and analysis, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. The individual must be able to interpret an extensive variety of technical sales instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with a verity of abstract and concrete variables.



E. WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee

encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  • The position is often in an office setting, travelling or at customer/user sites (restaurants, wholesalers, distributors, etc.).
  • The position requires some travel – about 25% of the time this position is expected to be out of the office.
